How does the $5 Play Pass work?
For $5 (plus gratuity and tax), you have access to our entire library of games. The $5 is added to your bill just like a regular menu item. All individuals are charged the “Play Pass” on weekends regardless of game participation. We take our library very seriously. This charge allows us to update and replace games, and provide weekend “game experts” to help recommend and teach games. The “Play Pass” is limited to 3hrs on the weekends when we are running a waitlist.
What’s this I hear about Memberships?
For $25 you can get a year long membership that includes; 5 Play Passes to use on yourself or friends, $3.5 game library access when not using Play Passes, monthly member perks like “a free hot chocolate” or “half off a panini”, free monthly game mixers, and an invitation to our yearly members only birthday party!
Can I reserve a table in advance?
Yes! Use the button on our home page. A credit card is needed to reserve the table, but is not charged unless the group fails to show up for their reservation.
Where do I park?
There are meters in front of the cafe, and a paid lot behind. Across the street is the West Side Market lot, which maxes out at $6 in the evenings on weekends. Free street parking can be a search, but we recommend looking on Jay St (that’s where we have the best luck!).
How does it work when I get there?
You’ll be greeted at the door, and sat by a host or server. At that point, food and drink is done "restaurant style” with a server tending to your table. In regards to games, explore the shelves, and grab any games you're interested in. And always feel free to ask for a recommendation!
Groups of 6 or more?
Reservations can be made to accommodate groups of up to 10 on the weekends. Groups of 6 or more will be checked out with a single bill.
Meetups?
We love meetups, and have facilitated individual events as well as groups and organizations who have been meeting at the cafe for years! However, meetups without direct communication with management are discouraged, and will be charged as a single bill. We’d love to work with you and your group, and provide you with a wonderful experience. Please use the “large group” tab to reach out!
How is the game library organized?
Games are organized by genre, not alphabetically. The “Games” tab on the website details the games we have, and their location in the cafe (but always feel free to ask for help!)
Are children welcome at Tabletop?
Families are welcome at Tabletop. We ask that anyone under the age of 16 be accompanied by an adult.
Can I bring my own games?
Yes! We still charge the “Play Pass”, but are happy to host you and your games. Just be mindful of not getting them mixed up!
Food and Drink Options? Gluten Free? Allergies?
The full menu is here on our website! We also have monthly specials, seasonal cocktails and mocktails, local beers, and N/A options. Many of the items on the menu are/can be made gluten free (rice bowls, sandwiches, tots, hummus plates, etc). Our kitchen takes requests in regards to allergies VERY seriously, and will always communicate with servers and customers to make sure food is delicious and safe.
18% Gratuity
In recent years we have implemented an 18% gratuity that goes on all bills. This goes to all of our serving staff. To be honest, we’ve seen “automatic gratuity" be used by some businesses and organizations in ways that we feel are improper. That being said, tipping culture is still a strong norm in our market, and we feel very strongly that our approach to the situation is the best way to serve both our staff, customers, and the foundational needs of the cafe. Thank you for your support!
